Commentaires : Based on the play “Breath of Spring” by Peter Coke, the original Broadway production was a five-week flop in 1971, though many felt a rather good show had suffered by opening the same time as “Follies” – another show about old theatricals. This British version originated in Chichester in 1990 and was updated, produced very much as a tongue-incheek send-up of other West End Musicals and centred round a totally over-the-top performance from veteran hoofer, Dora Bryan. It received very mixed reviews, but they all loved Len Howe & Dora Bryan Dora. It managed a three month run.
